Final Logo File Formats

You will receive your final logo design in the following formats that can be used for various purposes:

Print & Promotional Projects – .eps, & .ai

An .ai file and an .eps file are vector images of your logo.  A vector file allows you to enlarge your logo to any size without ever loosing image quality. These are also the files (sometimes called native files because all other file types below can be created from these two file types) that you will want to use if you ever decide to update or change your artwork in the future.  Use the vector files for:

  • Stationery & Business cards
  • Any Printed Materials
  • Signs & Billboards
  • Brochures & Flyers
  • Ads
  • Packaging
  • Direct marketing & Postcard
  • Vehicle graphics
  • Embroidered & Silk screen
  • Some Microsoft Office Programs

Web Applications – .jpg, .gif & .png

These file types are the most commonly used on the internet.  They are 72 dpi, which allows their file size to be small and allow for loading.  These files cannot be used for print. Use these files when you are working on:

  • Website
  • Internet Marketing
  • email signature
  • email marketing
  • Some Microsoft Office Programs

Microsoft Office® – .tif

When you need a high resolution image of your logo, use the 300 dpi .tiff file while working in the following applications:

  • Word
  • Excel
  • PowerPoint
  • Outlook

Quickbooks® – .bmp

This file format is used by Windows, is 72dpi and has a small file size.  Use it when you need to import your logo into Quickbooks®.

  • Invoices in Quickbooks

What if I forget all this information?

Don’t worry.  Our File Usage Guide is a .pdf file that comes with all of our logo packages.  In detail, it will explain all the information above as well as give you specific information you printer may ask you for (like PMS colors).  It makes using your new logo simple!
